"We'll always be best friends,
Something between you and me..."
This song describes my inner mood really well right now. Not sure why, other than that I'm gonna see
cherrysher soon for the first time in far too long. Le Shwee and London=love. Can't wait!
Have recently (re)discovered love for Hooverphonic. Trip-hop is coming up fast on goth rock as my fave weirdcore genre. Even though a lot of the Hoov's songs aren't so much "hop" as "trip", I'm pretty sure they still qualify.
As we all know by now, LOTR decimated all at the Oscars, and all is perfect under heaven... except that Charlize Theron won best actress. Now, I''m the first to admit that the woman knows her shit, but I'd still rather have seen Keisha Castle-Hughes take it, but ah well. Hopefully she'll have herself another shot. Plus, Sean Penn? "Dead Man Walking" aside, I just don't give a damn, and it's kind of silly how formulaic his and every other nomination went down. But, that's Hollywood for ya.
Let's see, interesting tidbits... I successfully rowed a total of 750 meters at sub-2 min. splits on Saturday after half an hour on the anaerobic setting of the exercise bike, then did some ab work-- those medicine balls are damn slippery, btw-- and then went to the pool to destroy my skin and hair with a chlorine overload. Lord, how I wish there was some unpolluted water around here to swim in, like there is at home.
After the gym and banging my head against some Edward Said and Russian history for most of the aft, the Inscrutable Aswad and I cruised Central Ave in the LGRM, stopping off for coffee things and browsing at Barnes & Noble, where I was mocked by teeniegoths in the Foreign DVD section. I briefly considered snapping their skinny little necks like dry kindling, but refrained. Why is it that I never meet annoying people in isolated places with no witnesses around? The world would be a much better place if I did, I'm telling you.
Eh. Need to do something fun this weekend. The City perhaps, even though
swankyfunk and I are definitely gonna get ourselves an eyeful of Hugh next week, in any event.
