Instructions: List five songs that you are currently digging ... it doesn't matter what genre they are from, whether they have words or even if they're any good but they must be songs you're really enjoying right now. Post these instructions, the artist and the song in your blog along with your five songs. Then tag five other people to see what they're listening to.
"Currently" is the word. The order is of no particular significance.
1. The Magnetic Fields - When My Boy Walks Down The Street
This one is my favorite from a great band, a band which has just enough gay to make me feel included and loved, but which also has a little something for everyone. And, in
jilocasin's case, grand pianos do crash together, and there are whole new kinds of weather.
2. DDR 4th Mix - Boys (Euro Mix)
Just some randomly downloaded DDR song, representative of a genre I love because (1) I love to chair-dance, and (2) it reminds me of my boyfriend. Yes, I'm a sap-- what of it?!
3. Do As Infinity - Shinjitsu No Uta
I like pop music much more when it's done in languages other than English, mostly because it seems to me that people in countries other than America have more fun with it than is allowed by our vast, autochthonian music industry. Plus, music is the only truly universal language. People can blather on about math all they want, but at least with music, you don't have to be able to make it to appreciate it.
4. The Postal Service - Clark Gable
Gotta love the PS if for no other reason than that they're Seattle boys. Having a very nice and different sound only adds to the love. And the lyrics to this one resonate to a great degree: "I want so badly to believe that there is truth, that love is real... and I want life in every word, to the extent that it's absurd". Sometimes, absurdity is all there needs to be.
5. DJ Sammy - The Boys Of Summer
Because the boys of this particular summer surpass all those who came before.
And this tag goes out to:
cherrysher
jilocasin
morhout
zanthraxis
and
