A day on the water
Mar. 27th, 2004 02:54 pmToday endeth the spring training. Now, it's just regular practice weekday mornings, 7 AM. I'll miss the sun once we get into daylight savings, but still, it's a great way to start the day. Hopefully, by the end of this week I'll have some calluses built up on my hands-- my palms are pretty torn right now.
Coach C gave us meal vouchers for dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow, which was really nice of the department-- especially for those of us who aren't on the meal plan at all, heh heh. God, I love having a kitchen.
I am so brilliantly unmotivated; it's staggering. I am going to have to write like a mofo this week, and I don't even want to think about all the reading I still have to do. No class Tuesday, which is nice, but I still might have to forgo some relaxing time to get everything done. Ah, but it was worth it. I think I finally understand all those freaky team-sport people a little better now. It's nice to feel like part of a well-functioning unit... although it really depends, as do so many things, on the other people who make up the unit. I really do like my fellow rowers, though, and that's surprising, considering it's Sarah Lawrence. Maybe the qualities that make jocks in the outside world annoying serve to counterbalance the qualities on the other end of the social spectrum that make so many SLC people such bitches? Food for thought.
