Communications resume!

I have (finally!) retrieved my cell phone from Metro lost & found. [livejournal.com profile] queueball, [livejournal.com profile] driftwoodsun, [livejournal.com profile] cherrysher and all others who might have been trying to contact me on it, the lines are open. Fire at will.

... I feel like I should write something profound and pithy on the nature of modern communication here, but all I can think is, "thank CHRIST I didn't lose my entire phone book." I should probably commit some of those numbers to paper, in case this ever happens again...

Awesome. And you should just keep an address book on your computer or something.

Yes, you should.

And [livejournal.com profile] jilocasin is right, use a computer database. It's easier.

Is there any way that you can hook your phone up to a computer and download the contacts database? I'm able to do that with my phone and oh GOD it is quite nice, of course I have to kind of hack is, because Virgin Mobile sucks.

I'd die without my cell phone. I'm glad you found yours. XD

Hmm. Maybe? I'll have to check. That'd be nice, though the phone itself is kinda old, so that may not be possible.

You'll have to let me take a peek next time I see you, if there's a data transfer port, it might use the same cable I use. I've found a number of phones across various brands that seem to work with it, and they charge as much for this $50 cable when I found one for $5 on eBay. Fun times. Either way, if mine didn't work we could figure out what did, chances are if it's an old phone and it can interact with a computer than there's gotta be a cheap hardware/software package for it floating around somewhere. I ramble and obsess over it because even if it is a pain in the ass, it is so worth it. Especially on a phone like mine where there is only one way to display contact information and it sucks, but of course, also in the event of losing/breaking the damn thing.

Ah, the joys of technology. I'm scared of what'll come along in the next 10 years that I won't be able to live without. ^^;
